'Avengers': Scarlett Johansson Channels 'Charlie's Angels' In First Clip (VIDEO)

WATCH: Scarlett Johansson Channels Drew Barrymore In First 'Avengers' Clip

"The Avengers" isn't just about men in tights; it's also about ladies in tights! That's the takeaway of the first clip from "The Avengers," which features Scarlett Johansson -- in the tightest of black leotard -- fighting her way out of an interrogation while tied to a chair. Awesome! Also: familiar.

After all, who could forget a similar scene in the classic 2000 reboot of "Charlie's Angels," where Barrymore fights a room full of henchmen with her hands tied to a wooden chair, and then moonwalks (!) out of the room? Not me! Surely not you, either. Alas, there aren't any Michael Jackson homages in the "Avengers" clip.

But back to Johansson's costume. She plays Black Widow in the film, and apparently had some big difficulty getting into character each day. Literally.

"They spray paint her suit on in the morning," co-star Mark Ruffalo told reporters during an "Avengers" set visit last year. "But she looks good in it."

Ruffalo, who plays The Hulk in the film, had his own costuming difficulties.

"It was smoky, it was hell and I felt really uncomfortable. I’m not well-endowed, and those suits don’t really show you off in the most," he said in a moment of candor.

Also featuring the talents of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, "The Avengers" hits theaters on May 4.
