'Backseat Freestyle' Video: Kendrick Lamar Stunts Around Paris

WATCH: Kendrick Lamar Stunts Around Paris

Kendrick Lamar released the video for "Backseat Freestyle," one of the less inhibited songs off his stellar debut studio LP, "good kid, mAAd City" on Wednesday night. The video sees the Compton rapper doing his thing in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, and also features some booty shaking from Sherane, one of the recurring characters on the album.

"Backseat Freestyle" is perhaps the least introspective song on "good kid, mAAd City." Those just getting to know Lamar may dismiss him as yet another rapper focusing on women and braggadocio, which is why it's a bit of a shame that this is the "good kid" track that gets an early video.

We'd love to see one for "Sing About Me (I'm Dying of Thirst)," a veritable rap opera that depicts Lamar at a critical moment of transition in his own life. Lamar recently "decoded" the song for Jay-Z's website Life and Times, explaining that the deep and intricate lyrics came to him when he was reflecting on the death of a friend who was shot before Lamar's eyes.

Regardless, take a look above and let us know what you think in the comments.
