Barbara Walters To 'Clear Up' Exit Rumors On Monday's 'View'

Barbara Walters To 'Clear Up' Exit Rumors

All eyes will be on "The View" Monday morning as Barbara Walters addresses the whirlwind of rumors that have emerged around the ABC daytime talk show.

Late last week, news broke that co-host Joy Behar was leaving the show after her contract expires in August. The announcement came as a surprise to many "View" watchers, however is not entirely shocking as Behar's been on the show for 16 years.

One day after Behar confirmed her departure to Deadline, US Weekly revealed that co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck was getting the boot. The magazine cited unnamed sources who said market research showed that Hasselbeck's conservative views were pushing audience members away. Rumors circulated that Walters' future with the show was also questionable.

Over the weekend, the rumor mill continued to churn and multiple outlets reported that actor Brooke Shields was speculated to possibly replace Behar or Hasselbeck. Shields guest-hosted the show while Walters was out for a couple of weeks after the ABC News veteran caught chicken pox from Frank Langella.

The New York Post reported on Monday that Walters will "make it official" that Hasselbeck is leaving the daytime talk show. "All will be addressed on tomorrow’s show," a 'View' spokesman said in an email to the Post.

Meanwhile, "Good Morning America" co-host Lara Spencer told audiences that Walters would "clear up her intentions" on Monday's show.
