'Behind The Candelabra' Filmed At Zsa Zsa Gabor's Bel Air Mansion

Zsa Zsa Gabor was once again on the set of a movie when star Michael Douglas and the cast of HBO's new Liberace biopic used the 95-year-old screen legend's Bel Air mansion for the filming of Steven Soderbergh's “Behind the Candelabra.”

"Her home was used for early scenes between Michael, playing Liberace, and Cheyenne Jackson, who plays his hot pool-boy boyfriend who gets to sing a duet with Michael," a source close to the production tells The Huffington Post. "Her home was perfect. It was built in the '50s and doesn't look as if it has been redecorated since. It is lavish and sings old over-the-top Hollywood glamour."

Gabor was in and out of the hospital during 2012 and ultimately had her leg amputated. She has been in declining health since a 2002 car crash and fell in 2010 while trying to get out of bed to answer the telephone. She is now reportedly confined to her bed in the $15 million Los Angeles mansion and fed through a tube.

"While we were filming, Zsa Zsa was in a separate wing of the house far away from the cameras. We never got to see her," says one person on the set. "I'm pretty sure she had no idea we were filming in her house. It was her husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, who gave permission."

A spokesperson for HBO confirmed that Gabor's home was used during filming.
