Being a Queer Femme of Color Magic-Maker

The truth is, I don't fit. And maybe neither do you. Maybe you keep tweezers in your car to pluck the hairs from your chin. Maybe you have no idea how to do this thing called life. Maybe you make it up as you go.

The truth is, I don't fit.
And maybe neither do you.

Maybe you keep tweezers in your car to pluck the hairs from your chin.
Maybe you have no idea how to do this thing called life.
Maybe you make it up as you go.

Weave something from nothing.

The truth is, we all do this.
Those of us who are queer. Who are femme. Who are queer femmes of color. Who are trans. Who are reinventing the ways we love in our relationships. Who are reinventing marriage. Who are reinventing what community feels like. Who are creating new ways of connecting with Spirit.

We are magic-makers, all of us.

There are times you may feel alone in the not-fitting-ness. There are times when it may feel exhausting.

All I can say to that is: I see you. I feel you. I love you.

For those of us who live on the margins
I love you
For those of us that may feel invisible
I see you
For all of us who don't fit into any of the boxes
I feel you
For any of us that feel like we've struggled being our full and entire brilliant selves
I cheer for you

Confession: I often have no idea what I'm doing!
But I know this:
I am a queer femme of color trying my hardest not to make pieces of myself invisible. Trying my hardest to be whole. Trying my hardest to not assimilate and lose myself in a world that wants to simplify me.
I have no idea how to do that yet.
I just know that I don't quite fit and that I don't want to.

I want to create a space where all of the richness in our lives is just known + we don't have to describe ourselves. I'm holding space for that. For us to exist. To breathe. To not put words around us for who we are or what we do. I'm bringing ritual and magic to that.
I love you. I love us.
