After weeks of speculation on the direction of 106 & Park's current hosts BET has finally decided to step from behind the curtain and release a statement in regards to their newest hosts:

"106 & PARK" is undergoing exciting changes. Angela Simmons will continue to guest host until the end of the summer. Bow Wow aka "Mr. 106 & Park" will continue as the lead host; Miss. Mykie, Paigion and Shorty Da Prince will no longer remain on the show. BET Networks is happy to have worked with these bright, young stars and will continue to support them and their upcoming endeavors.

Since the show's inception in 2000 until now it appears that the popular network has tried to do everything in its power to bring the African American community the best in hip hop and r&b. With the success of hosts AJ & Free and later Rocsi & Terrence it came as a surprise last year when BET announced that it was ditching it's duo hosting model and bringing not two but four new hosts to the declining television show which included Mr. 106 and Park himself, Bow Wow.

As ratings continued to decline BET began swamping new hosts in and out in hopes of finding a winning formula and a winning team. According to reports they have found their winning combo at least for now which includes Bow Wow and his former girlfriend Angela Simmons who is also the daughter Rev. Run.

After BET's announcement many critics chimed in about the sudden loss of the other 3 hosts to the show. Some felt as if BET had given the new hosts false dreams while others felt as if there was enough time given for the audience to fall in love with the new hosting model. Did BET panic or was BET in such a big rush to replace Terrence and Rocsi they settled for hosts they were not completely confident with?

Despite the opinions and controversy that may or may not stand in between BET's decision on their top music show it can be assured that Paigon, Miss Mykie and Shorty Da Prince will be seen again. Good things come to those who endure until the end!
