In case you missed it, on Saturday Beyoncé released “Lemonade,” a 12-track visual album that captured the entire world's attention when it debuted on HBO.
Woven between songs were interludes of spoken word, one of which captured the attention of our food-loving hearts -- a recipe for her grandmother's lemonade.
Take one pint of water
Add half a pound of sugar
The juice of 8 lemons
The zest of half a lemon
Pour the water from one jug then into the other several times
Strain through a clean napkin
Now, we're sure this recipe is delicious. But half a pound of sugar sounds like a lot -- it equates to about 1 1/8 cups. And now that Beyoncé's got us thirsty for lemonade, we're hoping for a version that won't send us bouncing off the walls.
We dug up 12 of our favorite homemade lemonade recipes that require a little less sugar. (And of course, you can also adjust the amount yourself.) Take your pick, and let us know your favorite.
