TV ratings giant "The Big Bang Theory" may end after its 10th season, according to comments from showrunner Steve Molaro in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
"The reality is that maybe season 10 is the ending point," Molaro said in response to a question about the show's future, in consideration of current contracts assuring the show and cast members will proceed through a 10th season. "The real answer is I don't know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can."
"I never imagined nine [seasons] and here we are," added co-creator Chuck Lorre. "I'm not going to presume to know how many years this has because it's ridiculous for me to guess ... as long as everybody is having a good time and we're making a show we're proud of … then it's worth continuing."
"The Big Bang Theory" has alighted the internet this season thanks to a new plot point that saw Jim Parsons' Sheldon and Mayim Bialik's Amy have sex for the first time.
"Amy's been eager all along for a different kind of connection, but it's actually initiated by Sheldon," Bialik said of the storyline.
"Sheldon's eager for her to know she's special to him, and this is one of the items on the list that he feels could show that." Parsons said.
