O'Reilly vs. MSNBC Over Ground Zero Mosque: 'Incredible Nonsense'

Bill O'Reilly took on MSNBC Tuesday night, claiming that the news network "led the way in branding opponents of the mosque [near Ground Zero] as bad people."

Referring to NBC News but highlighting only clips that played on MSNBC, O'Reilly asked: "How does the far left survive in this country? That crew is so hateful, so harmful to the nation, it is amazing they have any platform at all."

He played clips of Bill Press, Anita Dunn, and Norah O'Donnell appearing on MSNBC arguing that opponents of the proposed Islamic community center near Ground Zero are anti-Islam.

"Somebody's got to say that, you know, we're not going to act like the people who stole freedom from Americans, the people who attacked America and killed 3,000 people," O'Donnell said in the clip. "We've got to let this end in terms of fighting over religion."

O'Reilly objected, pointing out that O'Donnell is "an NBC News correspondent, not an analyst," and saying that her point amounted to: "if you object to the mosque, saying it's inappropriate, then you're acting like the Al Qaeda killers.

"Can you believe this incredible nonsense coming out of NBC News? Can you believe it?" he asked.
