It’s not the “same jacket,” but it is a similar dress.

Actress Billie Lourd wore a custom mini version of her mom Carrie Fisher’s iconic Princess Leia gown Thursday at Star Wars Celebration, a four-day festival in Orlando dedicated to all things from a galaxy far, far away.

Lourd collaborated with Tom Ford to design the chalk-colored dress with kimono sleeves, and it was a timely tribute: The event marked Lourd’s first public appearance since Fisher’s death in December.

Lourd was on hand to help George Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy debut a new video tribute to Fisher that premiered on the first day of the festival. She delivered a heartfelt speech to the crowd, recalling her mother’s love of the film and its dedicated fans.

“My mom, like Leia, wasn’t ever afraid to speak her mind and say things that might have made most people uncomfortable, but not me and not you,” she said. “That was why she loved you, because you accepted and embraced all of her.”

Lourd wrote on Instagram that she felt “the ultimate strength of the force from all the incredible fans at #starwarscelebration after our tribute to my #momby.”

The force lives on through Lourd and her touching tributes ― spoken and sartorial.
