Brian Gill Killed, Another Man Wounded In Uptown Drive-By Shooting

Uptown Drive-By Shooting Kills 1, Injures Another

One man was killed and another was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting Sunday evening near Truman College in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.

Brian Gill, 23, was reportedly walking on the sidewalk on the 1100 block of West Sunnyside Avenue when a vehicle drove by and a male passenger fired shots at him and a second, 21-year-old man, the Chicago Tribune reports. Gill was shot in the head and was pronounced dead on the scene. The other man was shot in the arm and his side and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.

No arrests have yet been made in the shooting and a police investigation is ongoing.

The drive-by shooting was at least the second shooting in the area Sunday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Earlier in the evening, around 4:25 p.m., a man was shot in the leg after he walked out of a store on the 4500 block of North Sheridan Road.
