Brigham Young University Is Proud To Once Again Be The Most Sober School

Brigham Young University, based in Provo, Utah, was ranked the most sober school for the 17th year in a row by the Princeton Review.

BYU, owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is pretty proud of that achievement, and they weren't shy about it on Facebook:

BYU had a similar reaction last year, and has a history of embracing the title. When Vice President Dick Cheney merely mentioned the honor in a commencement speech in 2007, the graduates quickly applauded.

The Princeton Review's ranking of BYU as the most sober school was based on its annual survey of more than 130,000 students.

BYU has taken the top slot since the 1999 ranking. Prior to that, the other sober champs were Caltech and Deep Springs College. Deep Springs held on to the No. 1 slot for five years in a row.

The current top 20 sober schools is largely dominated by Christian schools, military academies and a couple of urban colleges.
