Bryan Fischer Slams Burger King's 'Proud Whopper' As 'Nonsense' And 'A Bonehead Move'

Burger King's " Proud Whopper" made headlines and won the praise of a number of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights organizations, but one notoriously right-wing source isn't having any of it.

The American Family Association's Bryan Fischer denounced the specially-wrapped hamburger on an installment of his "Focus Point" radio show, arguing that Burger King's effort was "nonsense" and a "bonehead move from a marketing standpoint," Right Wing Watch first reported.

"When people sit down to eat a hamburger, the last thing they want to be thinking about is two guys having sex," Fischer, whose anti-LGBT rants have become commonplace, noted.

Earlier this year, Fischer slammed the ABC series "Modern Family" as "poison" because of its portrayal of same-sex relationships.

Prior to that, he expressed dismay over the same-sex couples who tied the knot during Macklemore and Ryan Lewis's performance of "Same Love," featuring appearances by Queen Latifah and Madonna, on the 2014 Grammy Awards.

"If you care about children, this thing ought to appall you because gay marriage is bad for children," Fischer said. "In fact, same-sex parenting ... is a form of child abuse."
