Carla Bruni Calls Off Louvre Rock Concerts

French First Lady has called off plans for two free rock concerts to be held in the Louvre museum in Paris, the Telegraph UK reports. Officials said the concerts were "unsuitable" and dangerous and that holding a rock concert in a historic place was a bad idea.

However, French news sources like "Le Canard Enchaine" have speculated that Bruni made the decision because the June 18 and 19 shows were scheduled too close on the calendar to a series of AIDS benefit concerts, and Bruni is an official AIDS ambassador for the United Nations.
