Three-time major champion Phil Mickelson announced today that he would be suspending his PGA tour to help his wife, Amy, fight breast cancer. Amy Mickelson will undergo surgery in as soon as two weeks to treat the disease, according to a press release on Phil Mickelson's website.
Amy and Phil married in 1996 when Phil was 26-years old. They have three children aged 9, 7 and 6. Amy's diagnosis reminds us of other young women in the spotlight who have fought and won against breast cancer. Below is a slideshow of those women.
