We'd be hard-pressed to think of anyone in fashion who wasn't at Monday night's 7th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards. Looking around the cocktail party that preceded the dinner and awards ceremony was like a flipping through the pages of Vogue. There was Anna Wintour greeting guests at the door, Carey Mulligan, Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera (who smells great, by the way), Karlie Kloss and Chanel Iman holding hands. It was that kind of night.

We have to issue a correction, though: Jezebel has accused contributing Style editor Lesley M.M. Blume of wearing fur, but just FYI--it was faux, and it was from Zara.

Dinner was chicken pot pie (apparently the same as last year). No appetizer (though there had been hors d'oeuvres like sliders at the cocktail party) and no bread basket. And it was delicious. Dessert was served at the party that followed the awards ceremony.

And, of course, the awards ceremony: keynote speaker Karl Lagerfeld gave a speech, but between the accent, the acoustics and the fact that he is Karl Lagerfeld, we basically have no idea what he said.

Runners-up Eddie Borgo and Prabal Gurung were brought up to the stage, and the big prize went to designer Billy Reid. We happened to be sitting at his table, and the man was in complete and utter shock. A the podium he said "The last few months have been the most incredible experience--just to be a part of this. That, to me, was the pinnacle. Tonight was certainly not expected."

The finalists were Altuzarra, Christian Cota, Gregory Parkinson, Loden Dager, Moss Lipow, Pamela Love, and Robert Geller.
