A new survey from Public Policy Polling finds a political split on where voters stand on Chick-Fil-A in North Carolina.
Individuals describing themselves as "very conservative" in the Tar Heel State prefer Chick-Fil-A over KFC by a 61-17 margin, according to the poll. Voters who say they are "very liberal," however, prefer KFC over Chick-Fil-A by a margin of 41-11.

The numbers from PPP come in the wake of controversy sparked last month when Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said that his company supports "the biblical definition of the family unit" on the issue of gay marriage.
Supporters of marriage equality have held "kiss-ins" to protest Chick-fil-A. Debate over the fast food chain has big names in business taking sides, and has ignited criticism between lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
