Forty-three year old Chris Paciello is a Miami-based entrepreneur who has lived the equivalent of several lifetimes in his time here on earth. He has built massive businesses, at one time owning the Miami nightclub scene, has lost it all, and has slowly risen back to the top. He is a partner in Anatomy at 1220, a one of a kind fitness collaboration with an infusion of medicine, sport's science, and spa treatments. He is also a partner in Vitasquad, an infusion therapy business. As well, he is soon launching back into an arena he knows well, the Miami nightclub scene. Chris Paciello is the Come Back Kid when it comes to launching, promoting, and building one of a kind businesses. Scratch that, he's the Come Back Kid, when it comes to building an incredible life. I sat down with Chris to learn the blueprint for staging a one of a kind come-back. He was candid about his past, humble about his future, and he offered his simple yet profound secrets to bouncing back. Here's what it takes to bounce the Chris Paciello way.

You Are Who You Hang With: Chris Paciello was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. He dropped out of school and became a criminal at a young age. Why? According to Chris, it was because that's what all of his friends were doing. Looking back, Chris said that his life would have been drastically different but for the people he hung around with back then. He believes that all of us are a byproduct of our surroundings, whether they be good or bad. If you surround yourself with honest, church going people, there's a good chance that's who you will be too. If you surround yourself with criminals, then that's who you are likely to become. Chris got mixed up in the wrong crowd in his teenage years and those affiliations, and the mistakes he personally made while with them, would eventually lead to his personal downfall. Years later, Chris Paciello would go from multi-million dollar entrepreneur Club King of Miami, dating movie stars, to the wrong side of a prison cell. Although it was the worst time of his life, Chris says that the lessons learned were invaluable. Today, he's made massive changes to his network and to his own state of mind. Chris says that he now surrounds himself with good, honest, hard-working, ambitious people, because that's who he is today.

The Value of Friendships: Today, Chris is again on top of the world, involved in owning and running several start-ups, including Anatomy at 1220 and Vitasquad. I asked him if there's one thing he could point to which he credits for his career bounce back. Chris says that he's been able to slowly re-enter the Miami scene as a respected entrepreneur because of key friendships, some long time, and others newer. Chris explained that throughout the last 20 years there have been crucial friendships with very successful people who have believed in him. These have been people who understand who Chris is to his core. They could see that the mistakes Chris made in life were simply that, mistakes, and not the core of who he is as a person. After serving his time, Chris immediately relied on a pool of close friends who were willing to put their neck on the line to help him, if only because they knew who he was deep down inside. Chris says that as an entrepreneur, he has big dreams, and a well-planned strategy for achieving them. He says he will accomplish each and every goal, not just for himself, but for the people who believed in him during difficult times. Chris is excitedly working on the launch of a new nightclub in Miami this fall.

Re-invention: Chris Paciello notes that his success in business is a byproduct of his ability to always re-invent. His theory is that every business has a shelf life and the entrepreneurs who are working at re-inventing their business, even when things are running flawlessly, are the ones who last. In the world of nightclubs, Chris says that the shelf life is about three years. After three years of the same look and theme, customers start looking elsewhere. Chris says that the hardest part of re-invention is that when money is coming in and customers are lined up in the hundreds at your door, it's easy to find yourself relaxing, when in truth this is the time you need to start planning your next brainchild.

Failing Forward: Perhaps the greatest strength that Chris Paciello exhibits is his ability to take a punch and get back up. In fact, he says that this is what entrepreneurship is all about. Chris notes that most entrepreneurs are known for their success stories, but it is really their backstory that fuels their progress. Chris says that he too has had some failed business ventures in his career, and instead of allowing those failures to function as an excuse to go in a new direction, Chris has used his failures as a catalyst to come back stronger. Chris didn't go to college but says he's received a lifetime worth of education on entrepreneurship, taking smart risk, and surrounding yourself with great people, all by intelligently dissecting his screw ups in business and in life, to turn them into a story of success, happiness, re-invention, and winning.
