Dr. Christine Blasey Ford spoke publicly for the first time about Judge Brett Kavanaugh, who she says sexually assaulted her when the two were in high school in the 1980s.
“I’ve had to relive this trauma in front of the world, and I have seen my life picked apart on television, in the media and in this body, who have never met me or spoken with me,” Ford said. “I have been accused of acting out of partisan political motives. Those who say that don’t know me. I’m a fiercely independent person and I’m no one’s pawn ... My responsibility is to tell you the truth.”
