Christopher Meloni, 'Law & Order: SVU' Actor, Is Selling His New Canaan, CT House After Only 8 Months (PHOTOS)

In real estate, the crime of selling a stunning home is considered especially heinous. DUN DUN

Actor Christopher Meloni, best-known for his decade-long role as Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has put his New Canaan, CT home on the market for $4,750,000.

He and his wife, decorator and set designer Sherman Williams Meloni, had purchased the palatial estate just last August for $4,381,000 and have decided to let it go after only eight months. According to Realestalker, when they purchased the 8,063-square-foot, five bedroom and eight bathroom house which was built in 1987, it had underwhelming architecture and design features.

But, the current listing reports that the house has "undergone a complete interior transformation," which includes fresh paint, newly stained hardwood floors and a backup generator. Other notable features include a three-car garage, four fireplaces, a butler's pantry, a wine room off the kitchen and a fully finished basement. And our favorite part? A two-level barn on the property's lush four-acre lawn that has rooms for six cars and an upstairs studio.

If you are considering jumping on this offer, you may want to hold out for a better deal. The couple is also in the process of selling their Manhattan apartment with jaw-dropping views of Central Park that was once featured in Architectural Digest. And according to Business Insider, Meloni tried to sweeten that transaction by including a brand new 2013 Porsche Panamera with the purchase. Not too shabby!
