It can be troubling enough to have a reason to visit a hospital or see a doctor. And with rising costs and doctor shortages, getting quality care is more of a concern than ever.

Doctor review site Vitals.com crunched the numbers to rank U.S. cities on their access to high-quality health care, based on the number of primary care physicians and hospitals per capita and how long patients said they typically sat in waiting rooms and how easy it was for them to schedule appointments.
