Cleveland Park Listserv: Where Concerned Citizens Worry About Flowers, Leaf Blowers, Fat Cats

Persistent Flower Thief Dogs Residents Of Tony Neighborhood

WASHINGTON -- For years now, a mysterious thief has been pilfering flowers from the tony D.C. neighborhood of Cleveland Park.

Recent messages posted to the (members-only) neighborhood listserv suggest the mysterious D.C. flower thief is back at it -- one neighbor posted a photo of the purported criminal, holding a bright bunch of purple hydrangeas; others, as DCist reports, are sharing ideas about how to put an end to the crimes against flora once and for all.

One person has made lemonade out of these high-class lemons. A blogger, who's staying anonymous in order to keep her access to the neighborhood's online goings-on, is sharing the thoughts of a very concerned neighborhood on Cleveland Park Complaints.

The blog's author says she's coming to Cleveland Park's mailing list with a background that is not full of gardening troubles. "I lived in Southeast and there was a listserv there," she told The Huffington Post. "That one was about meth clinics, muggings, stolen cars."

Cleveland Park Complaints details concerns that this anonymous blogger still does not consider to be her own -- she does not own any flowers, for example. "I just want to bring joy to the world," she says. "I have been an avid reader of the listserv. I would email around the most ridiculous ones to friends. I figured I should share it with the world."
