The pooches participated in a costume contest, limbo and a "Corgis of Instagram Meet and Greet," while some of the humans sold T-shirts and stickers to benefit a local rescue that helps find homes for corgis and corgi mixes, McLemore said.

McLemore and her husband, who own a corgi named Mr. Pickles, organized the first event in 2012. "It was so much fun we decided to do it again," she told HuffPost. "Then it just blew up from there."

Corgi lovers should note that the next Corgi Beach Day is July 11. "We expect this one to be even bigger, as the summer CBD's are always our largest event," she said.
