These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous "insiders." After a while, it's easy to forget that stars are real people. That's why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question and answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they've shared their guiltiest pleasures?
Cory Hardrict may be married to Tia Mowry, but he's got his own resumé to stand behind. This year, the 33-year-old actor is set to star alongside Amanda Seyfried in "Lovelace," as well as Jennifer Lawrence's boyfriend Nicholas Hoult in zombie-romance flick, "Warm Bodies." So, what's Cory's life like as a working dad in Hollywood? He reveals all for HuffPost's #nofilter.
What was it like working on "Lovelace"?
"Lovelace" was really great. I got to work with the wonderful Amanda Seyfried, Hank Azaria and Peter Sarsgaard, so it can't get no better than that, right? I had a blast and the film is a very very well put together movie -- from the director, to the writing the cast. Hopefully people will embrace it when it comes out.
And how about "Warm Bodies," what's that film about?
"Warm Bodies" is a love story, a zombie-human being love story. And people are comparing it to “Twilight,” but I think it’s three times better. It has a comedic twist to it as well. Without giving too much away, I think people will be blown away by it. It’s like a Romeo and Juliet love story. You cry, you laugh, there’s drama, there’s zombie destruction, it’s a lot going on!
How’s fatherhood going?
Oh, it’s amazing. It’s my first time [being a dad] so I don’t mind not sleeping … I kind of want to experience it all. It’s very rewarding to look down at someone who looks just like you and looks to you for leadership and guidance. It feels great.
What are your Christmas plans with Tia [Mowry] and baby Cree?
We’re decorating the house, actually starting this week. We’re going to get a tree and put our lights up, do our Christmas shopping. We love going to The Grove, so we’ll go there again this year. So far, Christmas is going to be good.
And now there’s another baby around since Tamera [Mowry] welcomed her son Aden.
It will be nice for Cree to have a cousin to look after and he will have someone to play with at all the family gatherings and get togethers and stuff. It’s exciting to watch.
What do you think of Honey Boo Boo?
Honey Boo Boo? I have no idea who that is! Can you help me out? Is that like not cool for me to not know who Honey Boo Boo is?
Do you have any tattoos?
Yes I do. I have my name Cory on my left arm and I have my Mom’s name on my right with a cross. She passed away while I was still in high school so I got that on my right arm.
What was your high school superlative?
I would say I was most likely to succeed.
Flying, love it or hate it?
I love flying.
When was the last time you cried?
At my son’s dedication, he just got baptized. I shed a couple of tears.
Have you ever set a Google Alert for yourself?
Yeah I have Google Alert. I’ve had it for a couple of years now because my wife, she told me about it. I wasn’t really into it, but I was like, "Cool, I’ll get one."
Backstreet Boys or N*SYNC?
I would say N*SYNC.
Do you have a secret hidden talent?
Ummm … I don’t have a secret talent!
What’s your guiltiest pleasure?
I love hot edamame with truffle sauce.
What shows are always on your DVR?
Our DVR would be “The Voice,” “X Factor" ... and all those cooking shows.
If you could ask Kim Kardashian any question, what would it be?
How did you do it?! [laughs] I mean, I know how you did it, but how did you really pull this one off?
If you were undead, would you be a vampire, zombie or a ghost?
Oh, I would be a zombie! I would be Nicholas Hoult, he plays ‘R’ [in "Warm Bodies"]. He’s going to go down as the best zombie in history.
"Lovelace" is part of the official selection at the Sundance Film Festival and "Warm Bodies" hit theaters Feb. 1.
