Courtney Love Denies Allegations Made By Former Assistant

Courtney Love is denying allegations made by a former assistant who is suing the musician over unpaid wages and claims that Love made her perform unethical duties, such as telling her to hire a hacker and falsify legal documents.

On Tuesday, Love's former employee Jessica Labrie, 33, filed a wrongful termination, wage and breach of contract lawsuit in Los Angeles, and on Wednesday, Love released a statement to the press, claiming the "allegations are completely unfounded and are being made with malice by a disgruntled former employee."

In her suit, Labrie, who was Love's "Administrative Assistant and Forensic Research Aide" alleges that her yearlong employment involved "humiliation" in "a work environment rife with harassment, retaliation and discrimination," damaging her mental and physical health, reports The Fix.

Inside sources told the website that Love owes Labrie more than $30,000 in unpaid wages, which is nothing compared to the staggering amount of money the 48-year-old rock star is being sued for by her former lawyers.

According to the website, Love currently has no legal representation, which is perhaps why she released her own statement to the press, denying the allegations. Love's most current set of lawyers, at the Pryor Cashman firm, dropped her as a client back in April, and it's expected that the firm will soon sue her for months of allegedly unpaid legal services.

Love is already in the middle of a lawsuit with her former lawyer, Keith A. Fink, who sued her on June 25 for more than $460,000 in unpaid wages, while a private security firm also sued Love for $58,000 in unpaid fees, reports Rolling Stone.

On top of those cases, sources also revealed to The Fix that Love still owes $450,000 to fashion designer Dawn Simorangkir as part of a settlement for a lawsuit involving libel and defamation on Twitter.
