'Craft Wars' Recap, Season 1 Episode 5: Holiday Wreaths And Christmas Trees (VIDEO, POLL)

WATCH: Did Last Night's 'Craft Wars' Bring You Cheer?

Last night's Christmas-in-July episode of TLC's "Craft Wars" had us saying "Bah! Humbug!" and it seemed judges Erica Domesek, Stephen Brown and Jo Peterson and host Tori Spelling had the same sentiment.

The "Pop Craft" challenge, in which the three crafters had one hour to create a holiday wreath using winter clothing, didn't particularly bring us cheer. Margot went with a black, white and red wreath, while Cheryl decided to go with a country theme. These two projects weren't really festive but they certainly were designed better than Ivan's, whose creation made out of Santa hats and buttons was truly a craftastrophe. The judges sent Ivan home and Cheryl and Margot advanced to the "Master Craft" round where they had five hours to create a Christmas tree employing only holiday packing supplies.

Both ladies created a similar pop-up tree structure but they used extremely different materials to construct it. Cheryl crafted her tree out of wood and went traditional in decor by coating it with green chalk paint that allowed her to write holiday sayings on it. And although her tree skirt made from holiday cards was a mess, the tree topper created out of plexiglass and Christmas light bulbs was a showstopper.

Unfortunately, Margot didn't have quite an easy time with her tree. She decided to build it out of styrofoam, which is fine, but then she used spray paint to color it. She must had failed Crafting 101 because she didn't know that spray paint eats away at foam! She bounced back, but between the rough edges and unusual orange and pink color-scheme, her tree just did not deck the judges halls and Cheryl was named the winner.

Needless to say, there were few ideas such as Cheryl's tree topper that were really clever and beautiful, so overall last night's crafts were a little disappointing.
