Game Changer: Credit History More Important Than Looks in Dating

Physical attraction, intelligence and a good sense of humor are all still high on the list in dating. But more people are actively looking for signs of financial responsibility and compatibility before deciding to pursue relationships.

According to a new survey from FreeCreditScore.com, men and woman must do much more than dress to the nines and throw in a few jokes at the dinner table to impress their dating partners. When assessing a potential partner's attractiveness, more than 90 percent of female respondents said that financial responsibility overrides other desirable traits, including looks, sexual compatibility and career prospects.

While men, on the other hand, still rank physical attractiveness highest when selecting potential partners, financial responsibility now comes in a close second (92 percent vs. 91 percent).
