Cyndi Lauper's Style Evolution: From 'True Colors' To All-Black Ensembles (PHOTOS)

Cyndi Lauper's 42 Craziest Costumes

Whenever I see photographs of Juliette Lewis and Ke$ha rocking out on stage in neon-colored face paint and hair extensions, pop music legend Cyndi Lauper immediately comes to mind. The Queens-born singer and gay rights activist established a cult following in the early '80s with her colorful and clashing ensembles, half-shaved 'dos and platinum party hit "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."

As the Grammy Award-winning artist continued to pen karaoke-worthy tunes, including "Time After Time" and "True Colors," she stunned in barely-there party dresses, metallic eye makeup and platinum blonde locks. Then in the '90s, we began to notice a ladylike flair transforming her look, before giving way to LBDs with an edge. But thanks to her consistently offbeat style (and serious pipes), Lauper proves that she is the ultimate punk rock goddess.

In celebration of Cyndi's 59th birthday on Friday, we're taking a look back at the fashion icon's craziest outfits over the years. Vote on all her looks in the slideshow below.
