Danny Pudi Appeared On 'ER' Before 'Community' Made Him Famous

WATCH: 'Community' Star Danny Pudi's Early Role On 'ER'

Known for playing the absurdly comical pop culture enthusiast Abed Nadir on NBC's "Community," Danny Pudi's career wasn't always comedy-focused.

In the below clip from a 2006 episode of "ER," Pudi played a young man who, after declaring how much he hates his sister's boyfriend, gets in a violent brawl with him. (Thanks to Splitsider for the tip.)

Six years later, Pudi has put his dramatic past behind him and is focused on fulfilling his character Abed's potential.

“To play a character that is so much quicker than you … it gives you a new way of looking at the world,” Pudi told HuffPost in September.

In addition to "Community," Pudi has also appeared on "Cougar Town" and "Robot Chicken."
