Darren Criss On Broadway In 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying' (VIDEO)

How To Succeed In Broadway Without Really Trying

Gleek whisperer Darren Criss recently made the cover of Playbill for the first time ever, which meant two things: sentence fragments from a super excited Perez Hilton, and a fawning, ominous New York Times story that paints Criss as both our generation's Gene Kelly, and the kind of guy who says, "I always shoot for the moon...so that I'm happy when I land on the roof," twice in one meal.

The reason for the cover is the Broadway production of "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying," which used to star Daniel Radcliffe as corporate climb machine J. Pierrepont Finch, but will for this month only star "Glee" star/gay icon/pan-gender heartthrob Darren Criss (alongside co-star Beau Bridges). According to the NYTimes, producers are "spending tens of thousands of dollars to rehearse and pay Mr. Criss for just three weeks of performances this month...in hopes of molding him into a theater star they might build a Broadway musical around someday." Sinister!

The gig won't interfere with "Glee," where Criss' Blaine Anderson was promoted to a main character this season: two days after he winds up "How To Succeed" on Jan. 22, he'll hand the reins over to Nick Jonas. Idea for the future Broadway musical built around Darren Criss: "Pierrepoint Boys: The Fantastical Story Of Darren Criss, Daniel Radcliffe and Nick Jonas." It'll be a hit!
