Darwin Jackson Charged In The Brutal Bronx Murder Of His Mother, Tihesha Savage

16-Year-Old Charged In Brutal Murder Of His Mother

Police charged 16-year-old Darwin Jackson Wednesday night in the murder of his mother, 34-year-old Tihesha Savage.

Savage's body was discovered Wednesday morning in a plastic bin outside her apartment building on the 14-hundred block of Macombs Road in the Mt. Eden section of the Bronx. She was found with a severe wound to her head.

The New York Post reports Jackson allegedly confessed to cops that he fired a gun at his mother, before hitting her with a bat inside their fourth-floor apartment. The two had been arguing, cops say, about Jackson's late nights out.

According to ABC, area residents say the 16-year-old was seen "walking around the scene in a daze [Wednesday] morning" and was later the person who identified his mother's body.

In a surveillance video obtained by police, Jackson can allegedly be seen dragging the bin carrying his mother's body across the street.

Cops told The Post there was a trail of blood from Savage's apartment, down the stairs and onto the street.

29-year-old Kevin McCorke, who lived two doors down from Savage, saw the 16-year-old and Savage's younger daughter being led away by police Wednesday morning. The little girl, holding a teddy bear, asked McCorke, "Where's my Mommy?"

Neighbor Evelyn Reyes remembered Savage fondly. “She was a beautiful person," she told CBS. "She loved her kids. She was a good mother, a good wife. Her husband got incarcerated."

Police sources tell The Daily News cops were called to Savage's apartment in July 2011 after an argument between her and her son.
