Drew Scott, 17-Year-Old, Turns 'Scrappy Happiness' Scrapbooking Videos Into Six-Figure Business (VIDEO)

Drew Scott -- a 17-year-old high school student from California -- has been making online videos about scrapbooking since he was 13. Scott’s YouTube channel eventually reached about 9,000 subscribers and 1.5 million views, and what was once just a creative outlet for Scott has turned into a money-making business called Scrappy Happiness.

“It’s a form of art and a form of graphics, in a way, just because I’m able to incorporate colors and textures,” he said in an interview with 23 ABC News. Watch the full interview in the video above.

The Website consists of a lifestyle blog, links to craft products, and different social media outlets. The teen also offers scrapbooking classes online hosted on Ustream channels.

Even more impressive is how much money the teen has been able to make from his passion project: 23 ABC News reports that the teen's company earned him $130,000 last year, and that he invested it all back into Scrappy Happiness.

After graduating from Tehachapi High School this spring, Scott wrote on his Website that he'll be attending Fashion Institue of Design and Merchandising in California starting this June where he also plans to continue blogging throughout college.

Scott isn't the only ambitious teen who has successfully turned a simple idea into a profit-earning business recently. In February, 15-year-old Hannah Greenberg -- a teen with autism -- created a T-shirt line through Spectrum Designs with the goal of helping out others who have her same disorder, and this summer 19-year-old Breanna Simon ran her own ice cream truck as her summer job.
