Violinist Lindsey Stirling seems to have no limits when it comes to experimenting with new genres on her acoustic fiddle.
Now Stirling, a self-described "hip hop violinist," takes her first leap into dubstep music in a new YouTube video performance.
She plays seemingly without effort while dancing and wandering through a winter wonderland of illuminated ice formations, tunnels, and arches created by California-based artist Brent Christensen.
Filmed by Devin Graham in Silverthorne, Colo., the chosen location is no coincidence. "Crystalize," the song Stirling plays in the video, is named after scientific findings suggesting that human thoughts impact the molecular structure of water, the artist explains on her blog.
"When put in different situations the water crystallized into extremely different patterns. These situations included playing different type of music, saying positive verse [sic] negative things, and more," Stirling writes.
Stirling's other notable music videos include a remake of the classic videogame "The Legend of Zelda" in which she plays her violin while wandering through a forest in full costume, as well as her mesmerizing "Lord Of The Rings" medley, which was shot in New Zealand.
