”Dynasty” is the latest TV series to get the reboot treatment, thanks to The CW.

The network is set to develop a new version of the iconic series, which ran from 1981–89, with the help of “Gossip Girl” writers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, Deadline reports.

If anyone can turn “Dynasty” into a modern soap worth watching, its Savage and Schwartz, who, along with Leighton Meester, brought the headband-wearing HBIC Blair Waldorf to life.

The writing duo has teamed up with “Revenge” writer and producer Sallie Patrick and Esther and Richard Shapiro, the husband-and-wife team who created the original series.

The updated series will put a slightly new spin on the original premise, according to Deadline. Two families ― the Carringtons and the Colbys ― find themselves feuding over their massive fortunes and their children. The stories will be told through the perspectives of two women: Fallon Carrington, daughter of billionaire Blake, and Cristal, a Hispanic woman who’s about to marry into the Carrington family, making her Fallon’s stepmother. The main difference we can tell so far is that Cristal (a counterpart to the original’s Krystle) is Hispanic, not white.

The show will be produced by Schwartz and Savage through their company Fake Empire, along with Patrick and the Shapiros. Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski will be co-executive producer and Patrick will be the showrunner, if the project goes forward.

No word yet on casting choices, but we can only hope some of the show’s original stars at least make cameo appearances. (Hey, Joan Collins!)
