Ed Sheeran At Notre Dame Academy: Singer Gives First Performance At American High School (VIDEO)

Ed Sheeran Performs At All-Girls High School! (VIDEO)

Over 500 teen girls had the experience of a lifetime last Thursday, when Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts became the first American high school to host a live performance by Brit sensation Ed Sheeran.

The Grammy-nominated musician sang to an audience of about 550 students as a reward for the school landing in first place in the Karson & Kennedy Koats for Kids Drive. According to local radio station Mix 104.1, the all-girls Catholic school collected over 3,000 coats for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Boston.

The three lucky girls who were in charge of the coat drive -- Hannah, Marissa and Abby -- had the privilege of introducing Sheeran to the rest of the school. Mix 104.1 radio station wrote that after playing a short set list, the singer performed “Little Things,” the One Direction hit he co-penned.

“I’d like to play a song I’ve only ever played once live, and I’m going to play it now," he said to the audience. "It doesn’t actually belong to me anymore. I gave it to a band to sing."
