Eleanor Friedberger's 'My Mistakes' Is Our Track Of The Day

Track Of The Day: Fiery Furnaces Frontwoman Goes It Alone

If you've been needing your Fiery Furnaces fix, you can have half of the brother/sister duo for now -- Eleanor Friedberger is back and at it alone with her first solo album, Last Summer, released Tuesday.

"My Mistakes" has emerged as the summery-single-with-nostalgic-themes we've been looking for. It sounds like the Furnaces, but more streamlined, forgoing the experimental for a cleaner, simpler melody. It's light, but still edgy, and as a little bonus, it ends with a saxophone solo.

For the record, as far as we know the Fiery Furnaces continue to exist as their own entity. Sometimes a sister just needs a little creative space away from her brother, that's all.
