WASHINGTON -- Election night in the nation's capital: For political junkies, D.C. is where you want to be, looking out at the nation's red, blue and purple electoral landscape from a perch safe inside the Beltway. But where, exactly, should you be? Whether you're a Democrat, Republican, Tea Partier, Green, or have political leanings somewhere in between, there's a place for you.

Family Friendly
Head to the Kennedy Center and enjoy some jazz from Jason Moran & The Bandwagon while watching results roll in on giant monitors. Find out who will lead our country in a beautiful building built in honor of a different president. 6 p.m., all ages, no cover

Young, Fun And Democratic
This is for Obama fans only: The Brightest Young Things folks will provide the party cultural scenesters in D.C. have come to expect. A patriotic-themed eating contest, cotton candy and a champagne toast if Obama wins. If not, well, a champaign toast to another type of change? At Bohemian Caverns. 5 p.m., 21+, $10

A 1% Party
The Ritz-Carlton locations in West End, Georgetown, and Pentagon City will each offer presidential-themed drinks -- we wonder if Romney's drink is non-alcoholic -- and vice-presidential beer-and-sliders combos.

Swing-State Swiller
Prove you voted with an "I Voted" sticker and receive buy one, get one free "Swing State Cocktails" at Art and Soul. We're not exactly sure what "Swing State Cocktails" are, but they sound fun. There will also be happy hour prices on other drinks and election-themed sweets from Sticky Fingers. 4 p.m., 21+, no cover

Political Junkie
Want to spend 13-hours drinking craft beer while watching results roll in? Capitol City Brewing Company is your Election Day destination. Drink all day and night at happy hour prices. If you're doing this, please, do not drive. Please. 11 a.m., 21+, no cover

Hungry And Patriotic
Have a free burger from Z-Burger. Or at Cashion's Eat Place in Adams Morgan, the restaurant will serve two different menus -- one for Obama and one for Romney. Obama's includes Chicago -tyle hot dogs and Romney's includes oysters with caviar. The returns will be streamed, "until results are in or last call, whichever comes first," all ages, no cover

If It Goes Late
End Election Night at The Coupe. If a race isn't called by midnight, head to this 24-hour diner/cafe/bar. $5 "Political Punch" will be served during bar hours. Always open, all ages, no cover
