Regardless of the 80-degree weather, it is in fact September. In my world this month signifies not only that special day of my birth but also the arrival of that glorious season, fall. With this shift in season I'm reminded that the leaves will once again turn those beautiful autumnal colors, the air outside will eventually be cool and crisp, the aromas will be comprised of pumpkin, cider, and butternut squash, hot chocolate will become part of the daily routine, and I will gladly retire my sandals and bare feet for socks, tights, and my most favorite part of fall, boots!
This clearly being the thought (read: obsession) residing in the forefront of my brain, I have been on a mad hunt around both the city and the world wide web in search of the perfect pair of ankle boots. These boots shall stand up to the pavement (I'm a walker!), give a little height (I need it, some don't. There are flats to choose from as well.), look great with pants, skirts, and dresses, and make a good attempt at holding up to the imminent winter weather ahead. I have searched high and low, from the recession friendly to the not so...isn't it all relative? Here are the top ankle boots for fall 2009:
