Cheryl Ekstrom is a sculptor, artist, and teller of stories. From humble, life-shaping views, instilled by a childhood in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Cheryl is constantly evolving, constantly changing, while always uniquely using traditions to redefine tradition -- both her own and that of her viewer. With works of art seen in galleries, museums and private collections commissioned from all sides of the globe, Cheryl is truly one of the purest artists to perhaps change just how we see the world around us.

Cheryl Ekstrom's work uses tradition to break tradition. In Ekstrom's "Misplaced Heart With A Wolf At Her Back," she allows us to contemplate, in a most out-of-a-box and intuitive way, how we are bound and molded by tradition, categorized, constrained and restricted. Using her sculpture as a metaphor for fracturing custom, the artist tells us that art can provoke both beauty, defiance and enlightenment as we go into the 21st century.
