With "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" finally coming into our homes through Digital, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD, we're about to get more information than ever. But even with all the behind-the-scenes footage and deleted scenes, fans will still be left wondering about that one major question: Who the heck are Rey's parents?
Well, until now ...
The most popular "Force Awakens" theory says Luke Skywalker is Rey's father. Everything from subtle dialogue hints to Luke's lightsaber calling to Rey seems to suggest it, and now we may finally have the evidence that puts the idea over the top.
The Huffington Post asked "Force Awakens" concept artist Doug Chiang about his thoughts on Rey's outfit looking like the Jedi outfits in the prequels, and though Chiang wasn't in charge of the costuming, he did explain they actually had Luke in mind when creating Rey for the movie.
"Early on when we were designing Rey, before the costume team came on board, we were trying to figure out, 'OK, well how can we tie in the design history of that, and how can we bring a little bit of Luke, perhaps, in there.'"
OK. Drop whatever you're doing. Forget about your trip to Tosche Station to pick up power converters. Forget about who shot first. Forget everything. Because whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
"Bring a little bit of Luke" in there? Why would you have to put Luke in there? Unless ...

Is this definitive proof, finally, that Luke is Rey's dad?
Chiang explained that "Star Wars" designs are rooted in history, and the idea for "The Force Awakens" was to make it look like there were leftover designs from the '70s and '80s. The artists wanted there to be a feeling that perhaps the designs just weren't used in the original films, so it is possible that they just wanted to draw upon the original trilogy's previous protagonist, Luke, since Rey is our new protagonist.
Yeah, that's possible, but, like, c'mon. Luke is totally the father. And now that Rey has tracked him down, it looks like he's finally going to have take on dad responsibilities. Womp, womp. Good luck with that, bro.
