Diver Takes Breathtaking Jump

Cliff diver Gary Hunt took a giant leap Saturday -- and it paid off.

At the 2013 Cliff Diving World Series, the 28-year-old from Southampton, UK, jumped to victory. His one and a half twist somersault dive off a bluff on the Islet Vila Franca do Campo, Azores, Portugal, earned him a score of 151.2, the gold medal and some serious bragging rights.

"It's a great sense of relief and a great achievement. It's been tough this year and to get on top of that podium was, I mean I felt like I really had to make a stand here today and get really stuck in to the season so I couldn't be happier that I finished first," told the International Business Times.

The next round of cliff-jumping competition will be held July 14 in Garda, Italy.
