Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner spoke to reporters today about the much-rumored restrictions on Wall Street compensation. Geithner said: "We'd like to see compensation plans better measure and reward performance." He went on to say SEC would have authority to approve pay for large financial companies.
"We do not believe it's appropriate for the government to put caps on compensation," he added.
