The Fight Within: Good vs. Evil

It's important to focus positive energy on ourselves. A lot of times we get upset because of the way other people treat us or other factors that we just cannot control. We are the only thing that we can really be in control of.

"I intend to remember and remind myself oftenthat the only person I can control is myself." | Support Susan's Intent

This intent reminds me of the Cherokee legend about two wolves. An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One is evil -- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good -- he is joy, peace, love hope serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. The same fight is going on inside of you -- and inside every other person too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee replied, "The one you feed."

It's important to focus positive energy on ourselves. A lot of times we get upset because of the way other people treat us or other factors that we just cannot control. We are the only thing that we can really be in control of. Take time to think about what you allow to have power over you, what controls you. Ask yourself if you are really in control of your own life. When you strip everything else away, your life is a series of choices you make, so choose wisely.
