GQ 'Better Men Better World Search' Honors Ordinary Men Making A Difference

GQ Magazine's Better Men Better World Search is honoring men who have taken action to make a difference in their communities and the world around them. The magazine called for submissions from readers and whittled the nominees down to five finalists. Now, it's up to popular vote to determine the winner.

Each of the nominees has founded or co-founded a nonprofit organization, through which they work toward positive change. Nominees include Jimmie Briggs, who co-founded The Man Up Campaign, inspiring young people to put an end to violence against women and girls, and Kiff Gallagher, who started the MusicianCorps, encouraging musicians to dedicate one or two years of service to working at schools where arts budgets have been cut.

Ken Frantz, the founder of Bridges to Prosperity, an organization that improves lives in the developing world by connecting communities with reliable bridges, and Tad Skylar Agoglia, the founder of the nationwide emergency relief organization First Response Team of America, are also in the running for the prize.

The fifth finalist is John Prendergast, co-founder of The Enough Project, who co-wrote "Not On Our Watch" with actor Don Cheadle, and is an activist for human rights in Africa.

The polls are open until September 30 -- and voters can cast their vote online. The winner will receive a $10,000 donation to their nonprofit, along with other prizes.
