Gucci Mane Changes His Name For 32 Minutes

For 32 minutes on Wednesday morning, the world was set to say goodbye to rapper Gucci Mane and hello to rapper Guwop. Thanks to the loud cries of fans everywhere, however, Mane canceled his plans for a name change less than an hour after announcing his future as Guwop. Crisis averted.

Born Radric Davis, Gucci Mane took to his Twitter at 9:20 a.m. EST on Wednesday morning to announce that he would stop being known as Gucci Mane in July, after eight years of performing under the stage name. He explained that he would continue his career under the name of "Guwop," explaining that "now it's Wop turn."
