As we get older, comfort and convenience might take precedence over the stylish trends that we religiously followed when we were younger. There's nothing wrong with that -- until one day you look in the mirror and realize you've been sporting the same hairstyle and makeup for years.

Refinery 29 challenged some older moms to let their daughters revamp their look with some edgy makeovers.

The daughters' task? To take their mothers outside their comfort zones.

Would you trust your kids to give you a makeover? We think one mom put it best: "Just don't make me look ridiculous, that's all."

Different silhouettes, lace and a little leather were all part of the mix.
