High Line Park Inspires NYC Composer (VIDEO)

WATCH: High Line, As Music

The High Line park has inspired artists, architects and admirers since it first transformed former elevated train tracks in 2009.

On December 3rd, y ou can appreciate the park in a whole new way with Brooklyn composer Ryan Francis. He will be premiering his piece "High Line," the winner of the "Greener New York City" themed contest sponsored by the American Composer's Orchestra and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, at Carnegie Hall.

Obviously translating urban decay into a composition is not easy. Francis stayed away from literal interpretations of the space, choosing to capture the it's quiet intimacy over a cacophony of bird calls and traffic noises.
