Howie Mandel's New Game Show 'Take It All' Takes The White Elephant To A New Level (VIDEO)

'Take It All': NBC's Twisted Take On White Elephant

Howie Mandel is back on NBC with a new game show tapping into the spirit of the holiday season. "Take It All" seems to be inspired the by the concept of the white elephant gift exchange, though this culminates with two participants having the chance to ... take it all!

The premise is simple: Contestants can choose a new gift, or steal from one that's already been opened. At the end of each round, though, the one with the least valuable gift is eliminated. Then, when it's down to two, they have the big choice. They can choose to keep the gifts they got, or "take it all."

If both contestants choose to keep their own gifts, then they do just that. If both choose to take it all, they both walk away with nothing. If only one chooses to take it all, then they get everything, and the other person gets nothing. Basically, it's rewarding shrewd greed, and being able to read the other person.

In this premiere, it came down to Kim and John, and the dilemma became a religious and moral one for John. "For me to arrogantly say, ‘I’ll take it all,’ is to spit in God’s face," John decided. Kim took that to mean he'd probably try to do the kinder thing and only choose to keep his own winnings. So she chose to take it all, and take it all she did.

The special holiday run of "Take It All" continues Tuesday through Friday at 9 p.m. ET, wrapping next Monday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
