'In Plain Sight' Season Premiere: Marshall Takes A Hard Hit, Loses Evidence (VIDEO)

Marshall Takes Hard Hit On 'In Plain Sight' Premiere

For the fifth and final time, fans settled in to watch the season premiere of "In Plain Sight" (Fri., 10 p.m. ET on USA), and they certainly got an hour packed with tension and excitement. Never more so than when Marshall was offering to watch Nora with Mary, but Mary wasn't having any of it.

It wasn't the excitement of the conversation, though Marshall was frustrated that he wasn't being trusted, but rather the shock when a truck intentionally slammed into him, sending his SUV on a barrel roll that he was lucky to survive. But the accident was no accident at all, and only step one in a master plan.

It was all a set-up so that a certain person could get their hands on the thumb drive Marshall had in his glove box. The team was well-trained, excellent marksmen and knew exactly what they were after and where to find it. It was an impressive takedown, one that was barely slowed by the arrival of Mary with her own gun blazing.

Never mess with frat guys. More specifically, never mess with a fraternity filled with important alumni like judges, senators, lawyers and the like who have more power than scruples. One pledge witnessed the killing of another pledge by a member, and thus went into Wit-Sec where he immediately became a target.

As for the drive, it was filled with incriminating evidence on many members of the fraternity, making it the kind of damaging information they'd much rather control. The witness gathered the information to protect himself and his mother, in light of her gambling debts to them.

"In Plain Sight" continues its shortened 8-episode final season Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
