Zachary Owens, Inmate, Made His Own Alcohol In Jail Cell: Report

Inmate Allegedly Made His Own Booze In Jail Cell

A southwest suburban Chicago man being held on sexual abuse charges in a Kendall County, Ill. jail faces further punishment: for making booze in his jail cell.

Owens now has been charged with possession of contraband in a penal institution, the Kendall County sheriff's office announced Tuesday, according to the Sun-Times. The charge is a Class 4 felony.

According to CBS Chicago, the charges were delayed while the Illinois State Police crime lab confirmed via their own testing that the bottle's contents were alcoholic.

The man has been held on six charges of predatory criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a child and criminal sexual abuse since September 2010.
